The Strategy Tree – the perfect team-building exercise

In front of you is a large game board filled with symbols. Your task is to remove them one by one as the clock ticks and points are at stake.

Each group is given tasks that earn points when solved correctly. The more points a task is worth, the more difficult it is. Therefore, you must constantly weigh risk against reward.

The instructor will put pressure on you from the start by dividing you up, so you will notice how small groups quickly lack people and brains. Only when you start to collaborate across groups will the tasks open up, and you will see that the goal can only be achieved together.

When you step onto the board, you only have 12 seconds to remove the next symbol. One wrong move costs points, and you only get one attempt per task. That’s why preparation is everything – you must have a clear strategy, practise off the board and trust that everyone knows their role.

If you manage to find the rhythm, you will feel how cooperation, communication and common goals merge together.
